It is a dark time in the narrative of the Jewish people. Their nation has been torn in two for over 300 years. The north is known as Israel and the south is Judah. As the Babylonian empire begins to rise, Judah is invaded and Jerusalem falls. The tragedy, difficulty and chaos seem insurmountable, and yet God shows Himself strong as the Righteous King. Daniel is raised up as a servant of God and shining light in these dark times. As a man of purpose, prayer and prophecy Daniel is given insight into the dreams and visions of others, and God gives him a glimpse of the rest of human history. Though human rulers misuse the power and influence God gives them, He sees all of it, remains in control and will make all wrongs right.
